MASCA’s Student Plans are specifically designed to provide local and international students with accessible, affordable healthcare coverage. Whether pursuing academic or agricultural studies, students can enjoy peace of mind with reliable medical support for routine and critical health needs.

Key Features and Benefits:

  • Primary Healthcare and Prescription Coverage:
    • Full access to day-to-day primary healthcare through your selected private doctor.
    • MASCA covers 90% of acute and chronic drug costs, with students contributing 10% at the pharmacy, up to two separate annual drug benefit limits.
    • 75% coverage for cancer medications and other high-cost treatments, with pre-authorization, within the annual benefit cap.
  • Hospitalization Benefits:
    • Coverage for stays in private and public hospitals, as well as school clinics, up to the annual benefit limit.
    • Admission in private hospitals is covered for up to 10 days in a general ward. Beyond 10 days, MASCA pays 50% of the hospital bill, while the patient covers the other 50%.
    • Extended stays for critical cases require pre-authorization on appeal by a specialist.
  • Specialist and Diagnostic Services:
    • Coverage includes consultations with specialists in private hospitals, though shortfalls may occur due to fees exceeding USD-based tariffs.
    • One MRI scan per year is covered, along with routine X-rays, pathology, and allergy tests.
  • Emergency and Evacuation Services:
    • Emergency medical evacuations by road or air to the nearest referral center (Harare) are covered within specific limits.
  • Grant-In-Aid Benefits:
    • Benefits include dental, optical, nebulizers, and other medical appliances, up to specified limits.
  • Worldwide Holiday Travel Coverage:
    • While MASCA does not offer travel insurance, we can refer you to our reputable partners who do.
